"Resigner" is industrial metal, but not in the sense that it tries to ape Godflesh, Ministry, etc. Instead, 8 Hour Animal captures the confrontational, transgressive feel of early industrial & filters it through a metal lense. What I love about this record is that it cuts right to the bleeding edge of discomfort, giving the tracks an exhilarating, taboo quality, as if any minute a cop is going to kick down my door for spinning it.
